RIVER KWAI & SANKHLABURI (DTA/RKWSA)
DAY 1: BANGKOK – KANCHANABURI (L, D)
Pick-up at your hotel in Bangkok and drive from Bangkok direction to Kanchanaburi., where a short visit at the JEATH Museum are being made, stop at the War Cemetery of Allied Prisoners of WWII, before seeing the world-renowned ”Bridge over the River Kwai”. Board the train (11:00 hrs) on the original Death Railway Train for a 1-hour journey to Wang Po station, passing over the dangerously looking wooden viaduct. Arrival at Wang Po station. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, continue in direction of the floating resort. Clients can enjoy the area for swimming and walking around the scenic National Park area and the nearby located waterfall. Dinner and overnight at the Saiyoke View Raft.
DAY 2: KANCHANABURI – SANKHLABURI (B, L, D)
Simple Breakfast at the rafts. We departure in direction of Sangkhlaburi via Thong Pha Pum for visiting the local traditional market. Continue to Sangkhlaburi, while we stop to have a simple, yet delicious lunch en route at local restaurant. After lunch, we follow the way to the Tha-Myanmar border, also known as the the Three Pagodas Pass , 20 kms east from Sangkhlaburi. Making the rugged Thai-Myanmar frontier , it is the site of a small but thriving boarder market while the three small Pagodas are memorials to this former Burmese invasion route. Those, who wish to cross into Myanmar for shopping may do so (optional). We combine this visit with the typical Mon-style Wat Wangwiwekaram with its large marble Buddha and close-by Mon village, before arriving at the resort for our night over. Dinner and overnight at the Ponnathee Resort.
DAY 3: SANKHLABURI (B, L, D)
Simple Breakfast at the resort. We departure by boat to an elephant camp and there, we start for an exiting trekking on the back of an elephant through the hilly terrain for approximately 2,5 hours. After this elephant trekking, there is time for swimming and a picnic lunch box will be served on the riverbank near the local hill tribe. After lunch, we embarking bamboo rafts for an exiting 2-hours bamboo rafting trip, following the Kwa Noi River downstream. Return back to the Resort for dinner and overnight at the Ponnathee Resort.
DAY 4: SANGKHLABURI – KWA NOI RIVER (B, L, D)
Simple Breakfast at the resort. Check out of the resort and we departure out of Sankhlaburi for our trip to Kanchanaburi. En route, visit the Kreung Kavia waterfall and Hin Tad Hot Springs a natural phenomenon commonly seen in various parts of Thailand. We pay as well a visit to one of the world renowned memories of the building of the Burma Railway Track: the Hell Fire Pass (a part of railway track cut through a big mountain built by the captives during War World II). The museum itself shows you the history of the hardship, these people have gone through. Lunch en route at local restaurant. We continue in direction west to a nicely located resort for our final night. Dinner and overnight at Kasalong Resort.
DAY 5: KWA NOI RIVER – BANGKOK (B, L)
American Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the resort to Nakorn Pathom; visit the biggest Pagoda of South-East Asia (“Pra Pathom Chedi”) which cannot be missed. Lunch en route at a local restaurant. After lunch proceed transfer to Bangkok. Arrive Bangkok in the late afternoon and transfer to your hotel in Bangkok. End of services.
