MALAYSIA Airlines (MAS) ramps up flights to Yangon, Myanmar from Kuala Lumpur from September 2. Facing off with AirAsia, MAS will have daily flights, up from its current five weekly flights.
2 DAY 1 NIGHT RIVER KWAI TOUR AT JUNGLE RAFT (DTA/2RKJ)
DAY 1: BANGKOK – KANCHANABURI (L, D)
Depart Bangkok for Kanchanaburi with visit to the cemetery of Allied soldiers who died in World War II. Then take a ride on the train along the original Death Railway, constructed by Allied prisoners of war, passing over a long, twisting viaduct amid wonderful scenery. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then transfer by boat to the River Kwai Jungle Raft or River Kwai Resotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: KANCHANABURI – BANGKOK (B, L)
Breakfast. In the morning, visit Hellfire Pass and the war museum by boat and by road. Depart after lunch for Bangkok. Arrive Bangkok and transfer to your hotel (own arrangement). River Kwai Jungle Raft River Kwai Jungle Raft is a floatel moored along the historic river, and can be reached by a 40-minute boat trip from Pakseng. The Jungle Rafts provide Thai or Western cuisine for the evening. There is no electricity or swimming pool. You can dive from your verandah for a cooling swim in the Kwai Noi river. River Kwai Resotel A small jungle retreat, in a unique setting, with magnificent mountain and river views. All rooms are air-conditioned. Accommodation is styled in harmony with the natural surroundings to provide travellers along the Kwai Noi River with full convenient facilities. Air-conditioned thatched-roof cottages under the shade of huge trees, swimming pool, classical Thai atmosphere restaurant and bar.
